Is rebank a bank?

keyboard_arrow_down

No! We're building software, not a bank.

We carry out regulated activities and for that we are authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, The UK's financial regulator. We also partner with Tier 1 banks to provide some of our products and have controls in place that are audited by our partners and the regulator.

The banking business model is outdated and creates the wrong incentives to help growing startups.

Where is my money kept?

keyboard_arrow_down

All rebank customer funds are stored with Tier 1 banks in the UK and US. All funds are safeguarded and fully protected in a named account.

How does rebank compare to established banks like Barclays, Chase, or SVB?

keyboard_arrow_down

Rebank doesn't replace any important relationship with existing banks (but we do make it a lot easier to work with them).

We are impartial

We work on top of your current banking solutions and we don't need you to move funds into a rebank wallet before you can start using rebank. Rebank will always be free to start using and you can get set up in a few minutes.

We're aligned with startups

The more money you hold with a bank, the more money they make. This incentivises banks to do everything they can to keep as much of your money with them as possible. But businesses don't work like this; as they expand their needs outgrow a single bank. They add other banking products, each with their own operational overhead. We've designed rebank to work no matter what your underlying finance stack is and our monthly subscription means that if you don't think rebank is awesome, you can stop using rebank with no consequences.

How is rebank different from my accounting tool? (E.g. Xero/Quickbooks)

keyboard_arrow_down

Rebank provides a single source of truth for startup finances so you can make business payments and track company spend across all your accounts. Rebank is designed to work with accounting tools like Xero & Quickbooks.

Accounting tools lets businesses prepare financial reports and includes other features such as invoicing and payroll. If you’re not an accountant, the learning curve is steep so most companies rely on a bookkeeper or accounting firm.

Here are the differences between the two:

  • You can set up currency wallets and send money in 30+ currencies with rebank.
  • Rebank is designed to work with most accounting tools. Connecting Xero or Quickbooks to rebank makes it better.
  • Rebank is used to understand spend in real-time and make payments anywhere in the world. An accounting tool (like Xero) is used to prepare financial reports. There is some reporting but it’s slow.

Can I have multiple corporate entities with one Rebank account?

keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. As companies grow they often need to change their corporate structure and create multiple entities. We let you add multiple entities to your rebank account so that you can have a single source of truth for your finances.

You can do all your intercompany transfers directly from within rebank and our intercompany add-on helps you stay compliant.

How do I make payments using rebank?

keyboard_arrow_down

Paying individuals and businesses is fundamental to running your startup so why do banks make it so complicated? Rebank lets you send payments using your existing banks (through direct payments) or from your own rebank wallet. Direct payments are currently only available from UK banks.
